Spiderwick: The Field Guide

I have been reading the Spiderwick Chronicles and I have found that I really enjoy them. They are about three siblings: Jared, Simon, and Mallory*. The three have had a traumatic experience with their father walking out on the family.
After they move to their great-aunt Lucinda's home (of whom is living in a asylum), they notice some odd happenings. I will not explain them all here, but I will tell you that Jared, Simon, and Mallory's mother suspects Jared of these hideous crimes, and he must suffer greatly for it. The strange things continue until Jared discovers a magnificent secret.
Spiderwick is one of those books that is only a little predictable but at the same time you are clawing at the pages to find out what happens next. The books really suck you into the text. I was able to finish the second book in one night. The imagination is impeccable.
Sometimes you might find a few parts where you're like: "What? I don't remember him picking up a rock." when the character is about to chuck it at someone or some thing.
The books are great fun to read, and I will review all of them.
Sure as anything I suggest them. They would make a good family book or just a book on your own.

*I don't like the way they spell "Mallory." It's like Ma-lore-ee
